What exactly am I buying and how much does it cost?
With the first purchase you buy the GPS device, which becomes your property, and at least four (4) months of activation. After that, you only pay the monthly activation, which is around EUR 8 per month, depending on the activation period.

What do I receive in the package?
You receive a prepared and configured GPS device with a BeeDigital M2M SIM card, invoice and access credentials for the Wialon monitoring platform (mobile + web).
Can I see current speed and movement history?
Yes. While the vessel is moving, the app shows the current speed. You can also review movement history for the last 400 days and see where the vessel was at any moment, including its speed.
How does reactivation work next season?
Contact us and tell us from which date until which date you want activation. We then send you an offer. For example, from 1 May to the end of October of the current year. You pay activation for the selected months and we activate the device; everything remains as it was the year before.
Do you come to install the GPS device? How does installation work?
No. You install the device on the vessel yourself. There is no need to pay additional installation costs when installation means connecting two wires: plus and minus to the battery. For most vessel owners this is a very simple procedure.
Can I track the vessel from multiple phones?
Yes. You can have an unlimited number of Wialon mobile apps installed on mobile devices.
How difficult is it to install the mobile app?
It takes about a minute. Download the mobile app from Google Play or the Apple App Store and enter the username and password included in the package. The vessel is then shown on the map.
I have multiple vessels. Can I see all of them while business partners see only selected vessels?
Yes. For your business partners, such as a skipper or another owner, we can create a username that allows access only to selected vessels.
Can I turn alarms on or off myself?
Yes. Alarms such as engine ignition, speeding, entering or leaving a movement zone, device disconnection from the battery, bilge pump activation and similar events can be turned on and off directly from the web or mobile app.
From which day of the month does activation start and how long does it last?
Activation runs from the first day of the month to the last day of the month. For example, if you activate the device on 15 May, activation must be paid for the whole of May. That is why it is good to plan activations on time.
Is the GPS device locked only to your service?
No. You can reconfigure the GPS device yourself for another service if you wish. The device is your property.
Can I use the system to switch on a device on the boat?
Yes. An electrical device can be connected to the GPS unit and switched on or off through the mobile app, for example heating, refrigerator, siren or similar. The vessel engine can also be shut off where installation and safety allow. Although the connection is simple, we recommend hiring an electrician. The wiring diagram is included in the package.
Can I use nautical charts?
Yes. They can be used from the web version of Wialon. Nautical charts are not supported in the mobile app. If you need nautical charts on a phone, you can use the mobile web browser.
Is my phone good enough for GPS tracking?
Yes. Any phone from the last 5-6 years should support the app. Android, Huawei and Apple phones are supported.
How accurate is GPS boat tracking?
Accuracy is usually around 2-10 metres. Larger apparent inaccuracies usually come from the background map rather than the device itself. You can change the background maps and use support for 7 maps plus nautical charts.
Do I communicate with the GPS device by SMS?
No. All activities are done through the Wialon mobile or web app. SMS communication was useful 10 or more years ago, but it is no longer the practical way to use the system.
Can I monitor battery voltage and engine hours?
Yes. Our GPS devices have input-voltage measurement and that data is visible in the app. For example, battery status can be shown as 12.35V.
When the boat engine starts, voltage increases by several volts. Based on this data, the system can keep an engine-hours record.
Can I keep service records through the app?

Can I calculate fuel consumption?
Yes. The calculation is mathematical and its accuracy depends on the consumption information entered.
Can I track visits to specific geographic zones?
Yes. You can see how many times the vessel left the berth zone, how many times it visited a fuel station and similar events. Based on this, you can create a report or receive a mobile notification when the vessel visits a zone. You define and draw the zones yourself.
